How do I sign up for BuildFolio?
Visit app.build-folio.com/signup and create your account. The Free plan requires no credit card. For Professional, you get a 14-day free trial.
How long does setup take?
Most contractors are up and running in under 30 minutes. Our onboarding wizard walks you through connecting your phone number, customizing templates, and embedding the lead capture widget.
What types of contractors use BuildFolio?
BuildFolio works great for HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, painting, solar, and general contractors. Any home service business that sends quotes and invoices.
Can I import my existing customer list?
Yes. Email support@build-folio.com with your CSV file and we’ll help you import your customers, leads, and job history.
Do you offer onboarding help?
Yes! All Pro users get a free 30-minute onboarding call. Email us to schedule at a time that works for you.

How much does BuildFolio cost?

Is there a free trial?
Yes. Pro includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card required to start.
Is there a setup fee?
No. BuildFolio has no setup fees, no contracts, and no hidden costs. You only pay the monthly subscription.
Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely. There are no long-term contracts. Cancel with one click in Dashboard → Settings → Billing. You’ll keep access until the end of your billing period.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Billing and click “Upgrade to Pro.” Your 14-day trial starts immediately.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through our secure payment processor, Stripe.

How does AI Photo-to-Quote work?
Upload photos of the job site and our AI analyzes them to generate a draft estimate with line items. You review, adjust pricing for your market, and send. Most quotes take under 60 seconds.
How accurate is the AI?
AI-generated estimates are typically 85-90% accurate. They’re a starting point — you always review and edit before sending to customers. You stay in control of every quote.
Can I send quotes and invoices from my phone?
Yes! BuildFolio is 100% mobile-friendly. Manage leads, send quotes, track jobs, and collect payments from anywhere.
Does BuildFolio integrate with QuickBooks?
Yes. Pro plans include QuickBooks Online sync. Currently this is manual (you click to sync invoices). Automatic two-way sync is coming in a future update.
How does the financing widget work?
The financing widget shows your customers monthly payment options powered by our partner lenders. You’re not a lender — it’s just a “See monthly payments” button that helps close bigger jobs.
What’s included in the lead capture widget?
The widget collects name, phone, email, address, service type, photos, and an optional message. All fields are customizable. Embed it on your website with one line of code.
Account & Security
How do I reset my password?
Click “Forgot password” on the login screen, enter your email, and follow the reset link. If you don’t see the email, check your spam folder.
Is my data secure?
Yes. BuildFolio uses bank-level encryption (256-bit SSL) for all data in transit. Your data is stored on secure servers with automatic daily backups.
Can I add team members?
Team features are coming soon. Currently, each account supports one user. Email us if you need multi-user access — we can discuss options.
How do I delete my account?
Email support@build-folio.com with “Delete Account” in the subject line. We’ll process your request within 48 hours and confirm via email.
Troubleshooting
Why aren’t leads showing up in my dashboard?
Check that your widget is installed correctly and the embed code matches your account. Test by submitting a lead yourself. If it still doesn’t work, email us your website URL.
Why didn’t my customer receive their quote?
Check the email address for typos. Ask your customer to check spam/junk folders. If the issue persists, contact support with the customer’s email and we’ll investigate.
The AI quote seems wrong. What do I do?
AI generates a draft based on photos — it’s not perfect. Edit the line items, adjust pricing, and add or remove items as needed. The more you use it, the faster you’ll get at tweaking outputs.
I’m having trouble with SMS. What should I check?
Ensure your phone number is verified in Dashboard → Settings → Phone. SMS requires a registered 10DLC campaign for compliance. Contact support if you need help with setup.
