How the Financing Button Works
A customer can open the financing marketplace from a BuildFolio proposal or your website. This is a referral link, not a loan application inside BuildFolio.

How the Financing Referral Works
Show the Button
Add a financing referral button to a proposal or your website. A proposal may show an estimated monthly amount, clearly marked as an estimate.
Customer Opens the Marketplace
The button takes your customer to a third-party lending marketplace. Any application happens there, outside the BuildFolio quote.
Lender Reviews the Application
A lender, if one makes an offer, decides eligibility, rate, term and amount for that applicant. BuildFolio does not set those terms or see the credit file.
Arrange Project Payment
Agree on project payment terms with your customer. BuildFolio does not arrange lender funding, receive loan proceeds or guarantee how and when a contractor is paid.

Yes. The referral button is available in BuildFolio’s Free plan. Loan rates, fees and terms, if offered, come from the third-party marketplace and lenders, not BuildFolio.
Who decides whether a customer is approved?
The lender does. BuildFolio doesn’t see the credit file or make approval decisions; approval, rate and term come from the financing partner, applicant by applicant.
How does the contractor get paid?
Project payment terms are between you and your customer. BuildFolio does not receive loan proceeds, arrange a lender payout or guarantee payment timing.
What happens if a customer defaults?
Loan repayment terms are between the customer and lender. Your project payment rights and obligations depend on your own agreement with the customer; BuildFolio does not guarantee collection or remove payment risk.
Can BuildFolio set a promotional rate?
No. BuildFolio cannot set loan rates or promotional terms. Customers can review any available offers and their full terms in the third-party marketplace.
